Griffiths was diagnosed with stage four non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2018. After undergoing intensive treatment, he was given the all-clear in 2020. However, he was later diagnosed with a rare post-cancer condition that has left him with a compromised immune system. He explained, ""It's a condition that affects my immune system and it means that my immune system is not as strong as it was before, so I'm more susceptible to infection.""
