Cathay Pacific to Purchase Airbus A330-900 Aircraft

Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific announced Wednesday a substantial investment plan, with the purchase of at least 30 Airbus A330-900 aircraft. The deal, valued at HK$855 million, forms part of the carrier's expansion plans and fleet modernization efforts.

Cathay Pacific currently operates a fleet of over 200 aircraft, including a mix of Airbus and Boeing models. The addition of the A330-900s will significantly enhance the airline's capacity and provide it with a more fuel-efficient and technologically advanced fleet.

The A330-900 is a wide-body aircraft designed for medium-haul flights. With a range of up to 5,900 nautical miles, it can accommodate up to 287 passengers in a three-class configuration. The aircraft features the latest advancements in aerodynamics, materials, and systems, offering improved performance and reduced operating costs.
