First Rainbow Kita in Germany to Be Established in Schöneberg
Planned: Majority of Staff to Come from LGBTI Community
First German Gay-Lesbian Kitas: The Facilities "Pink Tigers" and "Yellow-Green Panthers" in Berlin-Schöneberg
In the Schöneberg district, the first rainbow daycare center in Germany is set to open. The majority of the staff at the "Pink Tigers" and "Yellow-Green Panthers" facilities will be from the LGBTI community, making them the first gay-lesbian daycare centers in the country.
The initiative for the daycare centers came from the Queer Advice Centre Berlin Schwulenberatung Berlin. Starting in spring 2023, the first majority LGBTI childcare center will open its doors.
While Berlin is generally considered a welcoming and open city for the LGBTI community, many schools and daycare centers still struggle to address issues related to homosexuality and transgenderism.
Conclusion
The establishment of the first rainbow daycare centers in Germany is a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and accepting society for all children and their families. These daycare centers provide a safe and welcoming environment where LGBTI parents and children can feel comfortable and respected, and where diversity is celebrated.
