Doncic's Triple-Double Not Enough as Thunder Win Game 5, Force Game 6
Mavericks Host Thunder in Game 6, Aiming to Close Out Series
Dallas Leads 3-2, Oklahoma City Looks to Force Game 7
Luka Doncic put up an impressive 31 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds on 12-for-22 shooting in Game 5, but it wasn't enough as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Dallas Mavericks 117-106 on Wednesday night.
The Thunder, who were facing elimination, played with a sense of urgency and raced out to a 19-point lead in the first quarter. The Mavericks fought back in the second quarter and cut the lead to just four points at halftime, but Oklahoma City extended its lead back to 13 points in the third quarter and held on for the win.
Paul George led the Thunder with 32 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 23 points. Doncic was the only Maverick to score more than 20 points, as Kristaps Porzingis finished with 19 points and Jalen Brunson added 13 points.
The Mavericks now lead the series 3-2 and will host the Thunder in Game 6 on Saturday night. A win by Dallas would send them to the Western Conference Finals, while a win by Oklahoma City would force a Game 7 on Sunday night.
