Ralf Rangnick has signed a deal to become the interim manager of Manchester United. The 63-year-old German coach, who is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of modern coaching, will take over from Michael Carrick, who has been in caretaker charge since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's departure last week.
Rangnick is a highly respected figure in the world of football. He has previously managed teams such as Bayern Munich, Schalke 04, and RB Leipzig. He is known for his attacking style of play and his ability to develop young players.
Manchester United are currently eighth in the Premier League table, eight points behind leaders Chelsea. However, Rangnick believes that the team can still achieve success this season.
"I am excited by the challenge of managing Manchester United," said Rangnick. "This is a great club with a rich history and a passionate fan base. I am confident that we can achieve great things together."
Rangnick's first game in charge of Manchester United will be against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday, December 4.
